Signaling System 7 (SS7) Message Transfer Part 3 (MTP3) - User Adaptation Layer (M3UA)
This memo defines a protocol for supporting the transport of any
SS7 MTP3-User signalling (e.g., ISUP and SCCP messages) over IP
using the services of the Stream Control Transmission Protocol.
Also, provision is made for protocol elements that enable a
seamless operation of the MTP3-User peers in the SS7 and IP
domains. This protocol would be used between a Signalling Gateway
(SG) and a Media Gateway Controller (MGC) or IP-resident
Database, or between two IP-based applications. It is assumed
that the SG receives SS7 signalling over a standard SS7 interface
using the SS7 Message Transfer Part (MTP) to provide transport.

SS7 MTP3-User Adaptation Layer (M3UA)
This document contains a compilation of all defects found up until
October 2002 for the M3UA [RFC3332]. These defects may be of an
editorial or technical nature. This document may be thought of as
a companion document to be used in the implementation of M3UA to
clarify errors in the original M3UA document. This document
updates RFC3332 and text within this document supersedes the text
found in RFC3332.

Test Specification for MTP3 User Adaptation
This document presents the test specification for M3UA (MTP3 User
Adaptation) protocol (ver 05), which can be used to test M3UA
implementations for conformance to the protocol definition. The
list of test is exhaustive and covers almost all the categories of
test. This draft can also be used in conjunction with M3UA
specification by implementers of protocol as implementers guide,
as the pictorial representation of various scenarios help easy
understanding of the protocol.
